3Lab is the place for new refreshing programs. It’s an online platform where young creative talents can showcase their innovative and experimental works.  A few times a year 3Lab also shows a selection of the video formats on live television (NPO3).

For this renewed platform I was asked to work on the identity and online designs. Together with Digital Natives we created a new mobile first ‘responsive’ website.



For the new platform a modern and flexible symbol was needed to be used for online and offline communication of the brand. The traditional NPO3 colors and a bold, geometric typeface were used as a base to expand the visual identity.

Before we started working on the online designs we discussed a mobile first approach. Our target audience were teenagers and young adults (18-35) who consume most of their online information with their mobile phone. Our primary goal was to design an optimal mobile experience for video content.

Next to the popular mobile platform we also designed for all other devices. Our goal was to give desktop and tablet users a similar experience with an easy to use interface. Therefor the website was built on a fully responsive framework.
